DocuFast (docufa.st) is currently in beta. This policy explains how we handle your data.

1. Beta Status

This privacy policy applies during the beta phase. It may be updated as we add features and work toward full GDPR compliance.

2. What Data We Collect

  • Account information: Email address and name (via Google OAuth or email sign-up)
  • Uploaded content: Documents, images, audio, video, and notes you upload
  • Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and basic analytics to improve the service
  • Waitlist emails: Email addresses submitted via the waitlist banner

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and improve the DocuFast service
  • To send product updates and announcements (you can unsubscribe)
  • To diagnose technical issues

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your documents to train AI models.

4. Where Data Is Stored

All data is stored on EU-based infrastructure provided by DigitalOcean. Documents are stored in DigitalOcean Spaces (S3-compatible object storage) in EU regions.

5. Data Retention

  • Your data is retained as long as your account is active
  • Upon account deletion, all associated data (documents, notes, metadata) is permanently deleted
  • Waitlist emails are retained until you unsubscribe or request removal

6. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us.

7. Security

We use HTTPS for all data in transit. Encryption at rest (AES-256) is on our roadmap but not yet implemented during the beta period.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (NextAuth.js session tokens). We do not use third-party tracking cookies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification.
